If you’re looking for an ultracentrifuge, take a look at the Beckman Optima Max-XP, a benchtop model with reduced noise output and max speeds of up to 150,000 RPM (2,500 revolutions per second). It has an easy-to-read full-color touchscreen–from that can be read from across the lab or even from across the building via remote monitoring and control. The Optima MAX-XP’s rotors and its labware are designed, manufactured and tested as an integrated system for optimal performance and safety. The advanced software supports rigorous electronic recordkeeping with password-controlled access and audit trail documentation. The system monitors and records individual user and run data, rotor logs and more. Also features real-time speeds, time and temperature, and a customizable user interface for up to 12 persons. Plus, access to an array of language, including French, Spanish, Japanese, simplified Chinese and more.

We’ve recently received several biosafety cabinets, including 6’ wide Labconco Logic+ models, 6’ wide Thermo Scientific models, Baker SG404 models, Baker SG403 models, and 4’ wide Nuaire models.  All of these are being sold with stands and new HEPA filters installed by our technicians prior to shipment from our shop in Haverhill, MA. All of these are Class II Type A2 models, meaning they provide personnel, product, and environmental protection through filtered air, laminar or unidirectional air, and a motor blower. Room air is drawn in through the front grill of the cabinet. The air is pulled under the work surface and through a back wall plenum through a motor blower. This contaminated air is then pushed into the central plenum, where a small portion (30%) of air is exhausted out of the top of the cabinet through a HEPA filter. The remaining air (70%) is re-circulated back into the work zone through a HEPA filter in a laminar (unidirectional) pattern. The air then splits on the work surface, pulled through the back wall grill, around the edges of the work surface, and back through the front airflow grill, where it is pulled under the work surface to start the air recirculation process.

For those customers in the market for CO2 incubators we have several recent vintage Thermo Scientific HERAcell 150i models in stock. These units come standard with an on-demand, automatic 90°C decontamination function that decontaminates the entire chamber interior without the need to remove sensors, fittings or shelves. Decontamination is highly effective against a wide range of contaminants, including mycoplasma. This HERAcell 150i features an electropolished stainless-steel interior with perforated shelves; the iCAN touchscreen; and pan-less humidity water reservoir that provides faster humidity which promotes improved cell growth.

We also have several Thermo CryoPlus models in stock. These autofill cryogenic storage chambers provide accurate control and autofill capability without complicated programming feature top-mounted control panels that allow easy access to the CryoPlus’ microprocessor controller for programming. Two independent, flexible gaskets reduce the migration of moisture into the chamber and reduce icing. 24 tricolor LEDs continuously display actual liquid nitrogen level and high-level/low-level setpoints.
