At about 25”W x 29”D x 36”H this unit is great for both benchtop and undercounter use and provides a generous 6.3 cubic feet of storage space. How can an incubator be that small, with that much storage space, and manage to fit both a compressor and electrical heating elements in its design? The answer is simple: it doesn’t. Instead the Thermo Heratherm uses Peltier technology to both cool and heat the chamber from 5°C to 70°C thermoelectrically. Not only does the Peltier technology result in a smaller size with greater capacity but other benefits include no use of hazardous refrigerants, minimized vibration, and drastically lower energy consumption. For example, at a setpoint of 20°C the Heratherm consumes about 1.92 kWh per day, compared with nearly 12 kWh per day by a comparably sized, compressor cooled incubator.
Other features include temperature uniformity as good as ±0.3°C (at +25°C), and stability as tight as ±0.1°C, CFC free/HFC free polyurethane insulation foam for outstanding temperature performance and condensation prevention, a heated door with intelligent energy control to ensure reduced condensation, and intuitive programmability function for defined temperature ramping, soak/cool and dwell. The internal memory has space for storage of up to 10 programs with 10 temperature steps, loop program, and select mode at end of cycle.
