We recently received two Thermo Sovall LYNX 6000 centrifuges in stock and as far as we can tell we are the first used lab equipment dealer in the US to sell these units fully tested and with a warranty.
The Sorvall LYNX 6000 and 4000 centrifuges are the latest iteration of Sorvall’s continually evolving line of floor model refrigerated centrifuges. Like the RC-5C Plus, the RC BIOS, and other Sorvall models, the LYNX 6000 is capable of high-throughput processing of up to 6L and flexibility to support multiple users and applications in a shared lab setting.
The LYNX 6000 is compatible with a total of 19 rotors, from large capacity swinging bucket models to fixed angle rotors capable of achieving 100,605 x g (which for some labs can reduce/replace the need for an ultracentrifuge).
One of the features we’re most impressed with is the Auto-Lock rotor exchange. In older model centrifuges rotors had to be screwed or tied down securely into the spindle prior to use, which could be both difficult and time consuming. With the auto-lock features rotors can be swapped within a matter of seconds with no tools or tightening required because the rotor locks itself to the centrifuge spindle. What’s more, thanks to the auto-ID feature rotor specifications are instantly display on the LED screen which shortens run set-up time and eliminates risk for program input error. This drastically simplifies use and operation of the centrifuge and allows users to concentrate on other tasks.
The touchscreen interface also simplifies operation. The highly visible backlit display of set and actual run conditions, enlarged during the run for clear visibility, is easy on the eyes and allow for direct input of program parameters. It includes an integrated rotor calculator for simplifying protocol modifications and transfers and memory storage for up to 120 user defined programs with alpha-numeric naming for easy access.
